Outdoor Heat
Happiness is about expectations.
Heaters will not change the bitter windy nasty day to warm oasis but they will extend a beautiful evening, that starts to cool when the sun drops, a few more hours. The fact is that is what we need, a majority of the time, in our area. Fireside is located in an area of the country where we really don’t get really cold weather, we get uncomfortable weather. That is where outdoor heaters do their best work.
Gas or Electric?
Both generate the same amount of heat so make this decision based upon how much you plan to use it. Gas heaters cost more and are higher maintenance but they do cost less to use. The issue is how much will you actually use them? You may say “pretty often I’m always cold”. Even if you do use it pretty often it won’t be all day every day all winter like a restaurant it will likely be a couple dozen times a year and for a few hours here and there. Add to that the cost of installing gas and the cost of maintaining gas appliances mounted in the air outdoors. Electric is almost always the way to go for a residential application.
Built in or portable?
If you can do it build them in. It is so much nicer to not have to move a big heater around. If you do have to go portable the Bromic. It is a legitimate infrared heater made portable and really does work.
Which brand?
We sell Bromic and Infratech and they each have their strengths. Generally I would say if you are using gas heaters, use Bromic and if you are using electric use Infratech.
